Biz tip of the day!
In an email campaign, the details matter.
This photo is a screen shot from an email newsletter I recently received.
When done proper, a personalized greeting can make each member of your audience feel like you’re talking directly to them. But, if not done right, it’s the first thing that people see and makes it really obvious that it’s a mass email. Two things to keep in mind…
1. Make sure the recipient name is in the same font as the rest of the email. Send yourself a test email to see how it will look.
2. Write the name how you would greet someone in person. Use the first name only. To make it easy on yourself, you can specify this at the mailing list opt-in box, instructing people to only enter their first name.
What’s your favorite detail that adds a flair of personalization?
