Congratulations!
Your spot has been reserved for the
“Make Your Own Oracle Deck” Creative Retreat!
I want to honor this step you took to take time out of your busy schedule just for YOU! This is no small thing.
If you’ve made your way here, know you belong here. Regardless of your familiarity with art, creativity, or oracle cards.
So don’t question yourself, just block out the time and let’s get ready to have some fun!
Here are your next steps:
STEP 1) Put the date & time in your calendar right now so you don’t miss it! Commit to honoring the YES you felt when you registered and set yourself up for success by blocking out the time and gathering the supplies needed.
Sunday, Nov 7 • 11am -3pm pst/2pm-6pm est (UTC-8***)
***A NOTE ABOUT THE TIME! The US will be having it’s super fun and thrilling daylight savings time change that morning so when you’re looking up the time conversion, make sure to look specifically for Nov 7 pst/California time – otherwise you may arrive at the incorrect time*** Here’s a time zone converter » please use it 🙂
Plan to arrive on time and stay for the whole session so you can get the most out of the retreat, and complete the deck. Because there are so many steps in the process, I’m not able to admit people after the process has started. There will be a recording available for a very limited time if you can’t make it live ~ I will email out the recording Sunday night or Monday morning.
STEP 2) Join the Creatively Awakened Collective Facebook group here. There will be opportunities to win some incredible prizes and that will happen in the group!
STEP 3) Gather your supplies. You can find the supply list here. I’ve made you a video share my personal favorite supplies {watch here} and a watercolor demo {watch here}. If you haven’t used watercolors before, watch the demo before the retreat so you have some basic painting skills.
I highly recommend supporting your local art store and treating yourself by getting nice supplies that will create vibrant, rich color. They are worth the higher price – especially the watercolors and watercolor paper.
- A few sheets of blank paper ~ a sketchbook or printer paper
- Regular pen to write with
- 3 sheets of 9×12 Watercolor paper to create on – 140lb or higher recommended
- Watercolor paint set or a few individual colors
- Mixing tray ~ if you’re buying individual colors in a tube or dropper you will also need a mixing tray (you won’t need this if you’re using a pan set of watercolors)
- Metallic or glittery paint (optional but fun to have)
- Paint brushes of different types – flat, round, large
- Ruler
- X-acto knife (with new blade + surface to cut on) OR scissors
- Pencil and eraser
- Mix of dark and light pens to write on the cards – ink, black or metallic Sharpies, gel pens – have a few because sometimes they mysteriously stop working
- Cup of water for painting and cleaning brushes
A few more words about supplies…
Don’t let not having the perfect supplies as outlined here stop you from showing up for this. Just do your best. Don’t feel like you HAVE to spend a lot on supplies – they can also be found cheaper at places like Michael’s (check their website for coupons), dollar stores, Target, thrift stores, Facebook buy nothing groups. My city (Sacramento, CA) even has a free art supply library. Or, see if you know anyone you can borrow supplies from.
STEP 4) Add list [at] marabelzer.com to your safe list so you receive all the emails.
